Stanwood-Camano Little League
Player Code of Conduct

As a player in Stanwood-Camano Little League, I agree to:

1. Have Fun and Stay Positive:

• I will play because I enjoy the game and have fun with my teammates.

• I will focus on learning, improving, and giving my best effort, no matter the outcome.

• I will limit negative self-talk and use my words to build my own confidence and that of those around me.

2. Show Respect for All Participants:

• I will treat my teammates, coaches, opponents, officials, and spectators with respect.

• I will accept officials' decisions with grace, refraining from arguing calls.

• I will not use foul language, taunt opponents, teammates, or criticize others on or off the field.

3. Follow the Rules:

• I will learn and follow the rules of the game, understanding that they make the game fair and fun for everyone.

• I will listen to my coaches and officials and follow their instructions during games and practices.

4. Be a Good Teammate:

• I will support and encourage my teammates, celebrating their successes and helping them through challenges.

• I will not engage in negative behaviors such as harassment or bullying.

• I will always try to create a positive team environment, celebrating hard work and growth.

5. Manage Conflict Peacefully:

• I will solve problems calmly, without arguing, fighting, or showing hostility.

• If I am too upset to keep calm, I will ask for space and/or remove myself from the situation to allow time to cool down.

• If I have a problem, I will talk to my coach or a trusted adult.

• If I experience or witness bullying, I will report it to my coaches immediately.

6. Respect Equipment and Facilities:

• I will take care of my uniform, gear, and any equipment I use.

• I will not hit objects, slam them to the ground, or throw my gear in anger.

• I will clean up after myself in the dugout and ensure I have all my equipment and possessions before I leave.

• I will not climb fences, railings, or bleachers.

• I will help keep our fields and facilities clean and safe.

7. Play Safely:

• I will play the game safely and avoid any actions that could hurt myself or others.

• I will be aware of my surroundings, especially when I have a bat in my hand.

• I will inform my coach if I am injured or not feeling well.

8. Good Sportsmanship:

• I will congratulate opponents, win or lose, and accept the decisions of officials respectfully.

• I will focus on cheers or chants that celebrate my own team’s success.

• I will not use chants or cheers that target the opponent, taunt the pitcher, or disparage another team.

9. Stay Focused:

• During games and practices, I will give my full attention to my coach and teammates.

• I will avoid distractions, such as unnecessary use of my phone or chatting with spectators.

10. Be a Role Model:

• I understand that my actions on and off the field represent my team, my coaches, and Stanwood-Camano Little League.

• I will always strive to set a good example for others.

Consequences for Misconduct

• First Offense: A warning from my coach and a discussion about the issue.

• Second Offense: May result in being benched during a game or additional discipline as determined by the league.

• Repeat Offenses: May lead to suspension or removal from the team or league.

By playing in Stanwood-Camano Little League, I promise to follow the Player Code of Conduct and do my best to make Stanwood-Camano Little League a great experience for everyone.
