Player development is very important at SCLL.
We want to ensure that our players develop in the lower divisions and have a smooth transition to the next level. This also allows the players to build confidence.
Parents and/or players sometimes think they only play in a division for one season. That is not always the case. Every player develops at their own speed. Moving a player up too quickly may cause frustration, increase their chance of injury, and discourage them from returning next season.
By allowing a player to remain in their age-appropriate division until they are ready to move up will not only make them better ball players, but it will also make them more coachable once they advance to Majors and up.
